Branch Broker of the One Beaver Creek Office for Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, Dudley Ottley knows his Real Estate, and I live in the Vail Valley, because I like to enjoy life.

Making a living in the Real Estate Industry has been in my family for generations. My Great Grand father was a Real Estate Investor in Atlanta and he owned the land where Lenox Square is located today. My Father has been a Real Estate Investor, Developer and commercial Real Estate Broker since I was born. I feel like Real Estate is in my genetic makeup.

I began working as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in the spring of 1988 with my Father's Commercial Real Estate Firm, Ottley Properties, Inc. in Atlanta. My primary focus as a Broker was on Income Producing Properties such as Shopping Centers and individual freestanding retail buildings. I also brokered several large vacant land transactions and handled several land re-zonings in and around Atlanta. I worked in Atlanta as a Commercial Real Estate broker from 1988 until January of 1997. I was a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club for five years and received the Lifetime Member award. I have taken five of the CCIM or "Commercial Real Estate Institute's" weeklong classes, namely CI 101, CI 202, CI 301, CI 403, CI 410. These classes are the most intensive and difficult Real Estate Courses available in the Real Estate profession today. On a more personal level, I am originally from Atlanta, Ga., and went to the Dublin School in New Hampshire for High School. I graduated from Middlebury College, in Vermont in January of 1987, with a degree in Environmental Economics and a minor in Physics. I learned to ski on ice in the North East and worked as a Ski Patroller at Sugar Bush Mountain in Vermont after I graduated from College. I had previously worked for several summers in Juneau, Alaska as a Raft Guide. With my College degree in hand, and a job offer to manage the Rafting Company, I was ready to be a Ski Patroller in the winter and a Raft Guide in Alaska for the rest of my life. But for some reason got into the Real Estate business. While working full time as a Commercial Real Estate Broker in Atlanta, I began training and racing as a whitewater slalom kayak racer. At the peak of my career as a kayak racer in 1989, I was nationally ranked as 28th in the United States for Whitewater Slalom Kayak Racing. I also qualified to try out for the 1992 Olympic Team, but I did not make the top 4. The traffic in Atlanta and my job began to keep me from the outdoor activities that I love, and I decided to move west in hopes of finding a smaller town and improving my quality of life. I moved to Vail in 1997 and began working with Slifer Smith & Frampton in the Arrowhead office and now work out of the Hyatt Regency office in Beaver Creek. Despite my relatively short time with Slifer Smith & Frampton, I have consistently been in the top 30% of the 95 brokers that work for Slifer. In addition to Kayaking, Skiing and Real Estate, my other interests are Backpacking, Windsurfing, Biking, Hunting and most other outdoor activities. My mission statement is: Helping People buy and sell a piece of paradise in the Vail Valley. I hope that you will let me be your Real Estate broker.
